We used to live in Xepiun. I had 4 kids with my first husband, but he died during the war. My father as well died during the war. My mother and I came here to find me another husband.

When the war began, soldiers came into the village, people were afraid of being killed in their houses or on the road, afraid the soldiers would find them and kill them. We were disowned and displaced. We suffered hunger. But now - God willing, we are free again, and I hope it will remain this way. We will continue to move forward.

I'm trying to work as a cook, but right now I'm unemployed. I only cultivate land, sowing wheat - to cover my own basic needs. I don't get government support. What is most important and almost absent is education for our children, we also need money for the health center and to buy medicine.

What about my life do I enjoy? Let's see...today, for example, I am visiting sick neighbors to talk and to keep company. I am part of the Catholic Church. So I often visit relatives, we often have prayers or a vigil, we have customary bread or food whenever a child is born. I'm contented that my children are studying, but I'm also constantly thinking about pulling them out of school because of the money it takes. People here don't achieve because the land is poor. It's true - it's not their fault.
