Before the war we lived in Tzalval. We fled to Tuchel after my first husband was killed. I was left a widow, and since none of my family is still alive to help I contacted this organization.

My older son can't go to school - I need his help, but at least for now the two younger kids are going. I have no work that pays other than washing laundry and cleaning linens.

With the help of the organization I was able to buy 2 Cuerdas of land and to be granted this house. My old property in Tzalval is far away from here and my old house is no longer existing.

We don't really have much income. As soon as we have some money we go to the market to buy the basic foods. We grow corn ourselves, just very little, and not enough for the four of us.

Since we don't get any help from the state, it is very important to support the different groups and causes of this organization. That's why I participate in it. We need to build community.

Without the organization, I wouldn't have this home. Our family lost everything during the war: Our farm, the farm hands, the house to live in, the crop and the land to grow corn. At the time we were not able to organize ourselves - but now we can.
